FLIPPIN, Ark — The United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter 2706 of Shawneetown and the Boston Mountains Chapter 2666 of Harrison along with The Sons of Confederate Veterans, General JO Shelby Camp 1414 of Harrison, 27th Arkansas Infantry, SCV Camp 1519 and Wiggins Battery conducted a Confederate Memorial Ceremony at the Flippin Cemetery on Saturday, May 13. In addition, there were several members of other UDC and SCV chapters and camps present.
After the ceremony a potluck lunch and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
The objects of the UDC and SCV are historical, benevolent, memorial, and patriotic. Members are passionate about honoring all veterans of who served our country. They volunteer countless hours, send cards, provide quilts, blankets, pillows and toiletries to Veterans homes…
